StoneSheets® - Stone....Only Better!
StoneSheet panels feature thin, whole slabs of stone 6mm thick, bonded to an aluminum honeycomb core borrowed from the aerospace industry for the light weight, and high stiffness-density ratio. The lightweight core of StoneSheets®-AL is sandwiched between two durable aluminum sheets. Honeycomb is available in 12mm, 19mm or 25mm standard thicknesses, providing the stone slabs consistent, reinforced support from edge to edge. Panels can be cut to the desired size with the edges finished in a variety of ways, including solid stone, which conceals any revealed honeycomb profiles in designs. Other bonded and custom choices are available.
StoneSheets®-AL weighs about 5 pounds per square foot and is available in three different sizes: 2'x2', 2'x4' & 4'x4'. Whatever the size, the light weight and high performance of the aluminum honeycomb core and StoneSheets®-AL provides strength significantly superior to 2cm or 3cm slabs under bending, torsion, impact and compression, both parallel and perpendicular to the slabs. This resilient material combines the beauty of solid stone slabs with aerospace performance, changing the way stone is used by transforming traditional heavy stone slabs into integrated, easily installed, durable products that save time, money and resources.
The Stonesheet panels arrive onsite with Knight’s proprietary mounting plate structurally fastened (structurally adhered and mechanically fastened) and ready to install. StoneSheet panels may accommodate the use of additional special corner pieces at outside corners and window jambs. Several texture, finishes (i.e. polished, honed, brushed, etc.) and stone/color (Granite, Marble, Onyx, Travertine, Sandstone, Quartzite and Limestone) options are available, please contact us for samples. Add special engravings or markings for a specialized, custom and high-end look as well.
