LevelTek™ Rain Screen Leveling System

A typical wall assembly with a nominal R-value of 20.0 that consists of 2x4 steel studs, interior and exterior sheathing, continuous vertical Z-girts, and R-16.8 exterior mineral wool insulation has an overall effective R-value of only 10.2 (U-value: 0.098). Use horizontal Z-girts in place of the vertical Z-girts, and the effective R-value is still only 12.1 (U-value: 0.083).

The same wall assembly having a nominal R-value of 20.0 with Knight Wall System's patented LevelTek adjustable rain screen system with brackets spaced at 24" vertically has an overall effective R-value of 16.0 (U-value: 0.062)!

THIS EXCEEDS THE ASHRAE 90.1 MINIMUM PRESCRIPTIVE REQUIREMENTS OF R-15.6 ft²·°F·hr/Btu FOR STEEL FRAMED WALLS!

Knight Wall Systems’ LevelTek™ (formerly Stofix + thermal isolators) rain screen provides room for up to 6” of insulation on the exterior of the wall. Combined with Knight’s patented ThermaStop thermal isolation system (the only isolation system of it's kind), it will dramatically increase the effectiveness of the insulation and overall energy efficiency of the building. This is achieved due to the minimal thermal bridging introduced by the metal brackets penetrating the insulation, thereby slowing heat loss (or gain) through the wall assembly, without sacrificing the structural integrity of the attachment system. The system also offers Knight’s patented self-leveling feature, which enables a shimless quick and easy installation of a continuous, ¾-inch rain screen cavity on an out-of-plumb wall!

The LevelTek™ rain screen leveling system is designed to be used in conjunction with Knight's series of panelized cladding options.
